Csr Projects: Empowering Communities Through Culinary Education
Cookery Workshop for Busy Professionals organized for the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) of Sri Lanka 2025
In line with our mission to extend culinary knowledge beyond traditional student groups, Shamila’s Cookery Academy conducted a focused CSR initiative titled “Cookery Workshop for Busy Professionals: Smart Meals in Less Time” in collaboration with the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) of Sri Lanka.
This specially curated workshop addressed the growing need among working professionals to balance their demanding schedules with healthy home-cooked meals. It offered practical guidance on preparing nutritious, time-efficient dishes without compromising on flavor or quality.
Professional Cookery Training Program Organized by Sustainable Tourism Unit – University of Colombo 2023
As part of our commitment to community empowerment and inclusive growth, the Professional Cookery Training Program serves as a flagship CSR initiative, aiming to uplift underprivileged communities through vocational education in culinary arts.
This impactful program was designed to provide free, professional-level cookery training to individuals from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds, especially women and youth from rural areas. Through this initiative, participants gained valuable skills in practical cookery, food hygiene, kitchen safety, menu planning, and presentation, all aligned with modern hospitality standards.
